Heralding Beyond was a project sited on the Banana River in Cape Canaveral, Florida. As a development of the Acoustic Installation, architectural displacement was achieved through the collection, manipulation, and projection of sound. By considering the casting process as analogous to the stencil process in the laser drawings, the conflation of the means of production and the end product was pursued. Metal formwork was employed to form a central concrete acoustic piece. After casting, the individual pieces of metal formwork were then displaced to other locations within the architecture to act as acoustic collectors and reflectors themselves (as described in some of the drawings), thereby existing both as tools and as end products.
